You are invited to dedicate an engraved paving stone to commemorate your relative, ancestor or friend. The Ribbon of Remembrance will provide a central and personal focal point for visitors to the Centre and ensure that those who served or supported the Command's operations are remembered and honoured, whether lost during the war or since.
This will be built to frame the Chadwick Centre at the new International Bomber Command Centre, which is due to be completed in 2016.
Created out of Yorkstone Scoutmoor stones, this highly durable stone is cut to 65mm and is available in a variety of sizes. The colours vary from each stone; from blue grey to buff brown so no two stones are the same.
We have also designed an area at the entrance to the Chadwick Centre featuring the largest pavings, the "Manchester", which is purely designated for businesses supporting the project. This area will be visible to every visitor to the Centre. The International Bomber Command Centre will attract in the region of 70,000 visitors per year as well as providing a venue for commemorative and community events.
